Team Soul Barbell Current Cycle

Stay up to date with our current barbell cycles for Olympic Weightlifting and Powerlifting:

Team Soul Weightlifting

This next weightlifting cycles focuses on assistance work, meant to increase single leg strength, core strength, and overhead stability to improve lifts and promote injury prevention.

We will also be doing more positional and pause work to better build strength in positions.

The first six weeks of the cycle will focus on assistance and building but we will then transition into a more traditional 12 week competition cycle.

Team Soul Powerlifting

As we begin the new cycle, these next 8 weeks are going to focus on hypertrophy.

The volume of traditional barbell squatting, bench pressing, and deadlifting will decrease while the overall volume will increase in order to promote muscle growth. This will be accomplished, primarily, through higher rep sets.

This amount of volume will work to help build muscle and increase work capacity.

Shifting some of the traditional barbell work to a variety of different exercises and higher rep schemes will also give your body a chance to heal and recover from some of the wear and tear that comes with competitive powerlifting.
