Why Do We Set Goals?

Goal setting provides clarity. It helps provide direction and purpose for whatever you are working towards.

Goals help you develop discipline and help you with staying motivated. When you don’t want to do something, you can lean into that discipline to help you keep going and stay focused. This also provides a way to track your progress, helping you determine whether you’re on the right path or need to make adjustments for whatever you are working towards.

Most importantly, setting goals will help you stay accountable for what you say you’re going to do. What you do, will always speak louder than only what you say.

You learn a lot about yourself when you set out to work toward something helps with your personal growth. Pursuing a goal can be scary because there are a ton of moments when you’re uncomfortable and you might feel like you’re failing, but that’s a good thing! That means you’re growing and learning.

Let’s be honest, trying to accomplish a goal isn’t meant to be easy, but I can guarantee that whatever you set out to do, you’re going to come out stronger and more confident than you previously were. You’ll also walk away with some of the best memories from your journey.

It’s good to have both long and short term goals. Short term goals keep you going, and long term goals help you plan for your future.

The bottom line is, having goals help you grow as a person. We aren’t meant to be stagnant and there’s nothing scarier than no change at all. Set your goals, and work at them, every single day.

You might have noticed a goal board being hung at both of our locations. Let’s use these! Please write your personal goals on there by November 30th 🙂

There’s something special about when you personally write something that’s important to you, in your own handwriting. Let’s all crush this upcoming year!
